Samruddhi Mahamarg Gets Backed By Requisite Infrastructure Facilities – Part 1

There isn’t a consensus between the currently existing highways and the infrastructure facilities made available along with them. Apart from the inconvenience caused to commuters, there is also a rise in accidents along such highways due to lack of proper planning and limited facilities available at only a few places. After careful study and proper planning, modern infrastructure facilities are going to be made available under the Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg Scheme. This blog talks about the same.

In order to avoid the problems arising on the existing State and National Highways, special efforts are being taken in the construction of new highways. The increasing number of vehicles on the road, increased amount of accidents and the lack of planning in the provision of basic infrastructure facilities are some of the problems faced by the commuters travelling through the existing highways and the villagers residing near such highways. Even though in most cases these problems are resolved by way of newly developed facilities on the old highways, it is necessary to ensure that these problems do not arise in the first place on the highways newly being constructed.

Following are the problems currently arising on the old highways:
1. Increased number of accidents.
2. Increase in the encroachment of space near intersections and the problems arising out of it.
3. Lack of proper infrastructure facilities at where they are absolutely necessary.
4. Development in rural areas gets hampered due to lack of adequate permanent roads connecting such villages to the highways.
The Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg will be constructed after carefully studying all such problems and finding solutions to them. This will not only expedite the development of rural areas but also ensure that those passing through the Samruddhi Mahamarg will have a pleasant travel experience.

In order to facilitate travel of the commuters using the Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg and to prevent any obstacles in their safe passage, basic infrastructural facilities will also be provided along with construction of interchanges. The following facilities will be available on the Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg:
1. Food hub.
2. Petrol pumps.
3. Electric charging ports.
4. Hospitals and ambulance facilities.
5. Bus bay.
6. Truck terminus.
7. Telephone facilities in case of emergencies.
These facilities will be available at specific places with a distance of approximately 50 km between each such place. Along with above-mentioned facilities, the rural areas will be rapidly connected to urban areas by way of interchanges and agricultural prosperity centers. This will open the doors to the bigger urban markets for rural agricultural produce, wide open! It will help increase employment opportunities in rural areas, facilitate communication channels and help eradicate the economic gap between urban and rural areas.
