Property Corridor back effort for rural transport

Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg is going to be an enabling factor for ensuring safe and speedy travel. With this aim in mind, MSRDC also aims at bringing the nearby rural areas to be a part of the development process. It is extremely important to connect Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg to the nearby villages, If we want to develop infrastructure in these areas to bring these villages in the process of development. It is also required that the local transport, that is the transport between these villages gets a push. MSRDC is planning to take some definitive steps to ensure the smooth transport amongst these villages. This article is an effort to put together the information about the sameâ€Ķ

The proposed Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg is going to traverse through 10 districts of Maharashtra. About 390 villages from these 10 districts in the state are going to directly benefit from this project. In this project, to ensure that the channels of transport among these villages are maintained, MSRDC has planned to construct amenities like service roads, vehicular under and over pass, special ways for the cattle wherever necessary. This will ensure a good transport web for the people staying in those villages. All these things are a part of the 120 meter ROW (right of way).

In this way, while making use of the service road, the project is trying to establish a strong transport facility for the villages from the eight side to connect to each other. This will be ensured by connecting under and over passes across the breadth of the road. On the both sides of this expressway, such service roads will be constructed wherever necessary. To ensure the two way traffic on these service roads, the breadth of these roads is kept to be 7 meters.

The vehicular under and over passes, and also the underpasses constructed for the cattle will play a major role in ensuring transport facilities among the villages. The facility of pedestrian underpasses is also going to be there. These underpasses will be 5.5 meters in height and have a width of 12 meters. The underpasses which are going to be constructed for the cattle are going to be 3.50 meters in height with the width of 10.50 meters. In some places, the design of these two types of underpasses will be combined and only one underpass will be constructed. The height of that underpass will be 3 meters and width will be 7 meters. It is expected that the construction of the vehicular under and over passes will be such as to ensure a two way traffic on these passes.

As a result of these amenities the rural transport will get an impetus. This will connect not just the villages aligned to the Samruddhi Mahamarg, but also the villages which are far away form the expressway. This project will therefore ensure that a majority of rural Maharashtra will be connected to the cities. This will further strengthen the rural economy which will lead to prosperity of the people living in the rural areas.
