Our Signature to prosperity

The measurement process for the Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg has been implemented after the completion of the drawing process of the project. Hereby, the land that will be used for this project was precisely measured and evaluated. Thereafter the process of purchasing land for the project started from July. This blog ‘A signature for prosperity’ attempts to bring forth the various stages in the land purchase process.

After the administrative decision to construct a new highway named as ‘Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg’ connecting Mumbai and Nagpur, to fulfil the needs of the people of Maharashtra, MSRDC completed the drawing process of the project by using state of the art technology. After completing the drawing process, the landholders from the villages through which the highway is proposed was called to participate in the land measurement survey. The measurement survey gave clarity on the actual land of each of the landholders required for the project. The project is moving ahead by paving it path through different stages after the measurement process till the actual purchase process.

After completion of the measurement process, information on details of land which will be acquired for the project as well as objections was called for from the public by publishing sample 1 and sample 3 through the media. After this, various matters related to the land are checked by the administrative officers through search report. While preparing the search report, it is very important to check the following aspects

  • Name of the current landholder
  • 7/12 extracts which provide detailed information on the land such as crops and details of immovable assets
  • Verify the tenancy of the land records from 100 years ago

It is the responsibility of the administrative officer to collect and verify detailed information and all records related to the land that will be used for the project. Legal issues do not come up in future if the process of search report is carried out smoothly and accurately.

Can it be ensured that the compensation given by the government reaches the right person due to this entire process? To ensure this, it is very important that the search report of each and every land parcel that will be included in this project needs to be prepared.

Once the search report is completed, the concerned landholder is expected to sign the consent sheet. This makes it easy for the administrative authorities to implement the land purchase process. Before signing the consent letter, if the landholders have any doubts or problems, the administration strives at different levels to solve these and speed up the process. After getting the consent letter from the respective landholders, the actual process of land purchase begins.

After the current landholders and the administrative officers sign the purchase deed document, the appropriate compensation decided is transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account through RTGS.

In this manner, with a focus on transparency, the various stages of land purchase process are completed. Only after the completion of this purchase process, the concerned administration can use the land for the project.
