JMS completed in Shahapur - April 11, 2017

MSRDC invites RFQ for Maharashtra Samruddhi Corridor

Mumbai, April 11, 2017: In a big boost to the state government’s ambitious Maharashtra Samruddhi Corridor (MSC), the joint measurement survey (JMS) in Shahpur taluka of Thane district has been completed. This has paved way for the commencement of procedure for direct land purchase.

The JMS for the entire 54 km stretch of the Nagpur Mumbai Super Communication Expressway (NMSCE) passing through the taluka has been completed. In Shahpur taluka, 571 hectares of land comes under NMSCE of which 200 hectares in forest land while the remaining 371 hectares is owned by private parties.

From the 371 hectares of land owned by individuals, the state government has received consent for 161 hectares of land while the process to get consent of owners of the remaining 210 hectares of land is on.

Expressing satisfaction over completion of the process, Thane Deputy Collector Ms. Revati Gaikar said, "We are now in a position to know as to how much land exactly falls under the project. Earlier we had tentative figures. After getting consent from farmers for direct purchase, we will start with our process of purchasing the land directly as per state government’s orders."

The Samruddhi Corridor is a 702-km superfast communication expressway between Nagpur and Mumbai, connecting 10 districts, 24 talukas and 385 villages of Maharashtra. This process in turn will generate employment, fuel growth in agriculture and related activities and lay the foundations of a robust infrastructure and eventually contain rural migration.

Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Express Highway would be the fastest Express Highway in Asia. It would reduce present travel time between Nagpur and Mumbai of 16 hours to just 8 hours.
